Come on WordPress! A Rant!

We have some interesting projects in 2026, and what is great, is I have time to blog about them in real time and go back and tackle a few from last year.

Unfortunately, WordPress has not been cooperating, and I am unhappy about how they handled it.  It seems that the gallery feature (shown left waaaaay back when it worked) is having issues, and so for nearly a month I have been coming back in frustration to post, spending hours with no luck.

The gallery feature is the way I tell the story of what we did in the project, and it is essential to our posts.  Without it the posts would be very long with images placed like these are…which is fine for this type of post.

Now I get that things don’t always go as planned, and apparently there was a glitch in an update in Gallery, and so the COMPLETE FRUSTRATION I WAS HAVING was not my fault.

I kept coming back hoping that whatever was wrong would be fixed, or I would figure it out.  NOPE.

Finally I tried HELP, and the bot was stupid and useless (yes, I really hate the AI bots because they do not have true intelligence) so that wasted my time for a bit.

I finally was able to get to a HUMAN.  A Happiness Engineer, or H.E. in future.

S/he worked with me on the issue then finally left me to get more info from WordPress.  That is when I found out what really made me mad — not at my H.E., but at WordPress.

WordPress knew that my format had an issue, and was eventually going to fix it, and did not bother to find a way to let those of us who have the stupid template know.  It was not a problem with all the templates.

They didn’t let their Happiness Engineer’s know, so they also had to find out the way mine did — if they were any good — by contacting them one by one after spinning their wheels trying various things (most of which I had done, though s/he did teach me a couple of tricks).

So not only did they waste my time for weeks, but my SEVERAL HOURS WITH MY H.E.

And they also are not making it a priority, and BTW, we pay for our business blog.  So they should have done the right thing and gotten it fixed PRONTO.

As it is, it won’t be repaired until the end of February.  THE END OF FEBRUARY.

I had asked a few fellow bloggers, and one had my template too, and had actually switched to another template in frustration.

So I have not decided what to do.  The problem with switching to another template, like TENKU, is it goes back and changes all my templates, according to my H.E.  I don’t know what that might look like.

If anyone has any info on this issue, or wants to join my rant, just keep it clean.

After all, this is a BUSINESS site.
